A wallet address is not designed for human typing. It is designed to be copied exactly. One changed character creates a different destination, and a successful blockchain transfer normally cannot be recalled.
Copy from the receiving screen
Open the wallet or exchange deposit page for Ethereum on the required network. Use its copy button instead of selecting part of the address or copying it from an old message.
Check more than the first characters
- Paste the address into the payout field.
- Compare at least the first six and last six characters.
- Confirm the selected network on both sides.
- Review the pasted value again after any clipboard or app switch.
If anything looks different, stop and copy again directly from the wallet. Speed is never worth guessing with an irreversible payout.
